Inspection

Your New Jersey Home Inspection

You may not know what a New Jersey home inspection covers or what to expect. So I’d like to explain what we do and what you should expect when getting your home inspected.

The first thing is, we want you to be with the inspector during the inspection. This is so you can ask any questions that you may have about the home. One thing to remember – The only stupid question is the one that you don’t ask. So feel free to ask us your questions.

We’ll take the time to answer your questions in language that you can understand. We work for you. And we are there for you, period.

It’s not unusual for an inspector to look at over 500 details of a house. The major components of the inspection are as follows.

• Foundation
• Interior and exterior walls
• Electrical systems
• Heating system
• Air-conditioning system
• Water heater
• Plumbing and fixtures
• Roof covering
• Roof structure
• Flashing
• Fireplace and chimney
• Attic
• Appliances (built in) such as Dishwasher, Disposal, Microwave,Oven
• Doors
• Ceilings
• Floors
• Porches and decks
• Garage door
• Grading and drainage
• and much more

Is Your Home Hiding Something?

The inspector will also look for things like a fresh coat of paint that might be hiding serious structural concerns. Stains on the ceiling may indicate a chronic roof leakage condition or may be simply the result of a single incident.

These are just a couple of examples of the signs an experienced inspector looks for when inspecting your home.

The inspector interprets these and other clues, then presents a professional opinion as to the condition of the property so you can avoid unpleasant surprises afterward. Of course, an inspection will also point out the positive aspects of a building, as well as the type of maintenance needed to keep it in good shape.

At the end of the inspection you will receive a comprehensive inspection report with digital pictures that will explain all the concerns that the inspector has found. This report will help you to negotiate with the seller any repairs that may be needed including price.

Having your home inspected is the best way to protect your investment. To be sure that your inspection will include all this, performed by an experienced home inspector who will look out for you, work with Perfection Home Inspections.

I must have called about 8 or 9 different home inspectors to come inspect our hopefully future home. I would recommend Jeff to anyone who is looking for a great home inspector.
